Medical Device Manufacturing

PWI has the expertise and vision to become your bioscience and medical device development partner in testing and product improvement. Our integrated design and manufacturing capabilities offer speed-to-market and quality for a wide range of Class I and Class II medical devices including flex circuit design. PWI capabilities include a unique expertise in lighting, and development of low-cost laser light solutions for low level laser light therapy devices.

PWI is a full service, quality driven, electronics contract manufacturing facility. PWI has been manufacturing electronics for its own product line for over 40 years. PWI's manufacturing capabilities allow it to offer its customers a full range of services ranging from PC Board assemblies all the way through complete assembly and final testing.

One of PWI's core competencies is lighting and it has developed an expertise in lighting technology which utilizes cathode fluorescence that is very competitive with LED and fluorescent products. PWI has a full-blown optics lab, and is PWI is conducting research and development to design a low cost laser light solution for low level laser light therapy.

Other emerging areas of expertise include RFID technology that communicates and transmits data which is low cost and reliable. PWI has also developed technology that can measure internal temperatures of composites via micro wire without altering its properties.

PWI's engineering staff has well over 100 years of combined engineering experience. The fields range from RF, digital, and analog test systems to single board microprocessor control systems. PWI can design from concept or update and/or modernize a customer's current configuration. This includes circuit design, printed circuit layout, and testing. Along with the customers finished design, PWI can supply all documentation necessary to manufacture the product from prototype to turn-key.

Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lighting (CCFL)

PWI pioneered fluorescent lighting systems for the aircraft industry in 1972. PWI has been a competitive OEM supplier ever since. The complete lighting systems are designed and manufactured in-house, providing higher quality and personalized customer service. PWI's in-house glass shop has over 23 years combined experience.

PWI manufactures a complete line of LED lighting products serving a wide range of lighting applications. PWI employs state of the art LED's and driver technology to produce energy efficient and cost effective lighting solutions. Applying data from its Optical Lab, PWI's products are then designed to provide both direct and indirect lighting for the aviation, transportation, residential, and commercial markets. PWI can retrofit many types of classic lighting systems to LED.

PWI has worked with 5 milliwatt laser diodes in a hand held device.
